The Hermosa Beach Neighborhood Association Community Calendar

This is a 1924 picture with Hermosa Ave. running left to right on the lower part of the picture. The beach is at the bottom and what is the Five Corners is on the left of the picture. The North School is in the upper center of the picture on 25th Street facing Silver Strand. The old North School is a childerns day-school today.

This is a late 1920's postcard of the old Pier Avenue School before it was destroyed by the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. The school was completely rebuilt as a 1934 WPA project and became the Pier Avenue Junior High. This rebuilt school stands today and it is the Hermosa Beach Community Center on Pier Ave. and PCH.
