Are you still being bugged by that pesky Boeing 747 that keeps buzzing around your Hermosa Beach neighborhood. Well now you can have a neat James Bond tool that, at least shows you that a large object is about to overfly your house.
The trademark name of this "killer app" that powers this website is the "AirportMonitor" and whoever wrote the app did a great job.
The "AirportMonitor" shows a over head map with LAX in the center and there are a lot of little graphic airplanes are flying around. The display updates in near real time.
The little green airplanes are "Departures" from LAX, those are the ones that can head right over Hermosa Beach. Little blue airplanes are "Arrivals" to LAX. Litttle black airplanes are "In Transit". There is a slight delay in tracking for security reasons.
Check out this very cool web site that graphically tracks airplane traffic above LAX.
